National Council for Education Support Professionals

The National Council for Education Support Professionals (NCESP) works within NEA to represent the specific interests of education support professionals and advocate for ESP issues. Any active NEA member is eligible for NCESP membership. If you are interested in joining as an ESP member, please join as an individual member.  All other NEA members may join as an Associate member.  Please fill out and submit the NCESP membership form or contact

NCESP will be holding its next two General Membership Meetings during the 2019 NEA Representative Assembly in Houston, Texas (see below). We invite you to join us to hear the latest news from NEA staff on ESP advocacy, updates on NCESP advocacy work and much more.

Section 1—Officers and Regional Directors

The officers of NCESP shall be a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. The regional directors shall be Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Western, Pacific and Northeast.

Section 2—Qualifications

Each candidate for office shall be an Education Support Professional member of NEA and an active member of NCESP for 1 year.

GPS Fund Grants

NEA’s Great Public Schools (GPS) Fund enables grant awardees to improve student success. Since 2013, the GPS Fund has provided funds to state affiliates, local affiliates, and partnerships that demonstrate leadership in enhancing the quality of public education and engaging members. Award criteria focus on ensuring successful students, accomplished professionals, dynamic collaboration, and empowering leaders.
