The story of Latinos fighting for their civil rights in the United States is largely untold—and therefore, little known. And that is a shame, because it is a story that is inspiring and engaging. It is a story of a people, whom many Anglos believed to be both intellectually and morally inferior, challenging America to live up to the ideals espoused in the Declaration of Independence.
