Registration for the 2018 NEA National Leadership Summit is closed. Registration for the NEA Higher Ed (Pre) Conference and NEA-Retired (Post) Conference has been extended until February 28th. If you need assistance with the Summit, please email

  • All participants are required to enter your 10-digit NEA membership ID number when you register.  Please make sure that you have this available before you begin.  If you do not know, please call your state affiliate membership department to obtain your NEA membership ID number.  It is also located on the front label of your NEA Today magazine.

  • There will be no onsite registration.
  • Once registration is at a capacity, the registration system will close.
  • It is imperative that attendees register as soon as possible.

NOTE: There will be a single registration system for the NEA Higher Education Conference (March 15-16), NEA Leadership Summit (March 16-18), and the NEA-Retired Organizing Conference (March 18-19)


Registration Fee:

  • Early Registration: $225
  • Late Registration: $300

Leadership Summit Mission Statement

Purpose of the National Leadership Summit:
To develop activist leaders and prepare them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to lead a relevant and thriving association. Activist leaders are from all segments of the association that demonstrate, through action, a deep commitment to the goals, values, and vision of the NEA.

Summit Objectives:
To deliver annually a unified, strategic, and interdisciplinary approach to leadership development that reinforces and supports key leadership competencies in six strategic areas. The leadership summits are one vehicle to support the institutionalization of a competency-based and continuous learning system designed to develop the next generation of leaders and Activist Leaders.
